Ricardo Eversley is a Barbadian professional with over twenty years of experience as an educator, practitioner, friend, father, and family man. These roles have shaped his career. As a Senior Lecturer (PGDip, FHEA), he shares his knowledge of digital innovation and helps students prepare for a future shaped by new technology and ideas.
HERITAGE
Born in London to Barbadian parents, he is a highly accomplished and versatile visual communication professional (HND, BA) based in London, with expertise in digital innovation, graphic design, consultancy, and mentorship. His father, Owen Eversley OBE, served as a local politician, community activist, and former Deputy High Commissioner of Barbados. His mother, Judy, is politically astute and maintained a successful career. Influenced by these strong role models, Ricardo Eversley has become a respected academic.
Graduating in 2000 and 2002 with diplomas and degrees in Graphic Design and Design Studies, Ricardo quickly established himself as a creative across fashion, music, and entertainment. Over the next ten years, gaining valuable experience working on projects where his innovative approach and keen eye for detail earned him recognition among his peers.
In 2012, Ricardo Eversley brought his expertise and passion for design to London Metropolitan University as a lecturer in Graphics and Web Design. Supporting and inspiring future designers through his practical and academic insights.
Within a year, he was promoted to Senior Lecturer in Graphics and Web Design in 2013 and to Senior Lecturer in Digital Innovation in 2016. In these positions, he contributed to curriculum development and led projects advancing visual communication and digital technologies. His dedication to creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking has enriched the modules he teaches.
In 2020, Eversley saw an opportunity to develop his brand and founded Simba and Sloane, an online bookstore catering to design enthusiasts and book collectors.
