The UK’s new Barbados High Commissioner, His Excellency Edmund Hinkson, and Barbados entertainer Biggie Irie are set to bring excitement to A Lil Bit A Bim this Spring Bank Holiday Sunday with their presence.
High Commissioner Hinkson, who has “hit the ground running” since his arrival, is said to be looking forward to engaging with Bajans outside London at the Barbados Heritage Day event. Barbadian families and families from Oldham, Manchester, Huddersfield, Liverpool, Leeds, the Midlands, Bristol, Reading, London, and many more places.
At the recent Mount Gay Legends of Reggae Show and Dance, Biggie Irie, known as the honey voice of Barbados, stood out among the performers according to social media. Despite some technical issues, his nostalgic performance won over the crowd and showcased his excellent repertoire.
On Instagram, the entertainer wrote: ” After knee surgery, he said he was resting, recuperating, and following the doctor’s orders to get back to 100%.”

Biggie Irie looks forward to performing on Sunday, 24th May 2026, at the Barbados Day event at Broomley CC in Coalville, Leicester. One of the highlights of the day will be a T20 cricket match between a Barbados select eleven vs the host club.
Also on sale will be arts and crafts, food and the latest Barbadian products available, as well as cash prizes in the raffle, where the proceeds go to the NCBA group of charities

Momentum Management will also have games and activities, including the bouncy castle, to keep children entertained. Non-stop dancing in the clubhouse bar with resident DJs will also be available, celebrating. All in all, not a day to be missed.
