High Commissioner Hinkson, who has “hit the ground running” since his arrival, is said to be looking forward to engaging with Bajans outside London at the Barbados Heritage Day event. At the recent Mount Gay Legends of Reggae Show and Dance, featuring stars like Barrington Levy, Super Cat, Sister Nancy, Norris Man, and JC Lodge. Biggie Irie, known as the honey voice of Barbados, stood out among the performers. Despite some technical issues, his nostalgic performance won over the crowd and showcased his talent.
On Instagram, the entertainer wrote: “I’m home. Praise God.” After knee surgery, he said he was resting, recuperating, and following the doctor’s orders to get back to one hundred per cent.

Biggie Irie looks forward to performing on Sunday, 24th May 2026, at the Barbados Day event in Leicester, England. Called A Lil Bit a Bim, the event brings together Barbadians and friends for a joyful day of T20 cricket featuring the Barbados semi-pro team, Bajan food, arts and crafts, and lively music.

Momentum Management will also have games and activities to keep children entertained, as well as the usual dancing in the clubhouse with resident DJs
This event represents the largest social gathering of Barbadians outside London. It is endorsed by The Barbados High Commission, Invest Barbados, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (BTMI), Barbados Public Workers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited (BPWCCU), and Export Barbados (Barbados Investment & Development Corporation).
