Q in the Community London Edition

Q 100.7 FM Brings the Joy and Spirit of Barbados to London with Q in the Community – The London Edition

The Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation in Barbados celebrates how radio brings people together through its Q 100.7 FM “Q in the Community” events. What began as a weekly outdoor broadcast has grown into a joyful cultural gathering, connecting Barbadians with music, food, socialising, and national pride.
All year long, Q 100.7 FM highlights different communities in Barbados, celebrating local stories, traditions, and the people who make Barbadian life lively. At each event, residents, businesses, and entertainers are invited to join in, share, and be part of the nation’s life.
The London Edition
Holding the event in Wembley, an area intricately linked to the Caribbean, gives the London Edition an international feel and brings the warmth, rhythm, and spirit of Barbados to the UK. The event brings together Barbadians, their descendants, and friends of the island for a day of music, food, dancing, and friendship. It offers the community a joyful way to reconnect with their homeland and gives younger generations a lively introduction to Barbadian culture.
The event will be held at Oakington Manor Primary School in Wembley on Saturday, 19th September 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. It is described as a live cultural celebration and will be broadcast on CBC Radio 100.7 FM to listeners in Barbados and abroad, with coverage also on CBC TV. Broadcasting live creates a special sense of unity, turning a London gathering into a shared celebration for people in Barbados and those overseas.
Entertainment is a highlight of the London Edition, blending radio personalities, music, comedy, and community celebration in true Bajan style. This year’s program features CBC Radio presenter Kimberley Skeete, who will bring the familiar Q 100.7 FM atmosphere to London, along with DJ Scotty, Korz, Lapp, and Coolbreeze Hi Fi, each adding their own style to the music. Bajan comedian Dibbi Rollins will bring humour and personality to the show, adding another layer to the local entertainment. The event will offer ballroom dancing, line dancing, soul stepping, karaoke, party music, Bajan food, authentic products, exhibitor stalls, and community networking, making it a lively all-day celebration where culture is experienced, shared, and remembered across generations. The event will be held in two halls, with the Silver Lounge hosting the karaoke.
This year, CBC TV 8 will support the London Edition by giving the event a lively visual platform. With live broadcasts, interviews, highlights, and social media clips, audiences in Barbados and across the diaspora can join in the colour, energy, and community spirit of the festivities.
It will also showcase the performances, vendors, organizers, and audience experiences, while preserving the London Edition as a lasting record of Barbadian culture thriving overseas.
Community is not limited by location; it is carried through music, food, language, memories, and shared experiences. With Q 100.7 FM providing the audio and CBC TV 8 sharing images and stories, the event becomes more than a celebration. It serves as a proud link between Barbados and its people abroad, helping to preserve identity, strengthen unity, and encourage future generations to stay connected.
